Joseph Sebastian Klauber & Johann Baptist Klauber - Allegory of the Protection of the Virgen de Guadalupe over New Spain (c. 1754).
The Klauber family established a Catholic art publishing company in the Bavarian city of Augsburg in 1737. They were very active in producing religious prints of the saints, scenes from the Bible and pilgrimage sites.
The Klaubers conducted their work with the highest standards and eye for detail. I am pleasantly surprised to see that their fame reached as far as Mexico, as illustrated by this beautiful print of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Nice! I’d love a poster of this, in a beautiful frame, hanging in a place of great honor.
