This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. John 6:58
Tantum Ergo
Down in adoration falling, Lo! The Sacred Host we hail, Lo! O’er ancient forms departing, Newer rites of grace prevail, Faith for all defects supplying Where the feeble senses fail.
To the everlasting Father, And the Son who reigns on high, With the Holy Spirit proceeding Fourth from each eternally, Be salvation, honor, blessing, Might, and endless majesty.
By: St. Thomas Aquinas
How beautiful You are O God, and how great! Think about it. How contradictory it almost seems that one of the greatest displays of the Majesty and Beauty of our God is when He comes to us in what appears only to be a piece of wheat, a piece of bread. Yet that Bread is the Bread of Angels, the Bread by which the entire world was redeemed. The true Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be God forever.
*Not my photo, but I hope whomever owns it doesn’t mind my sharing it with the people of God.
“When we go before the Blessed Sacrament, let us open our heart; our good God will open His. We shall go to Him; He will come to us; the one to ask, the other to receive. It will be like a breath from one to the other.”
~ St. John Vianney
Excellent Eucharistic adoration video.
